How-To and DIY Videos

Creating natural and sustainable beauty recipes and potions…THAT’S MY JAM!

I love experimenting with different natural ingredients that I have around my home already. I have been amazed by how many uses I have found for some of my most common household staples like baking soda and white vinegar. Making your own beauty products, first aid products, and other remedies can also be so much more cost-efficient and less wasteful than purchasing toxic, store-bought alternatives.

One of my favorite new ways to share my recipes has been to create some short How-To and DIY videos. It’s been a new, fun way for me to create some engagement on different social media platforms like Tik Tok and YouTube.

Here are my first few videos…

These were super simple to create with still shots and free tools in Canva and on Tik Tok!

Non-Toxic Recipe Videos

Facemasks are one of the ways my girls and I like to practice #selfcare and this simple facemask recipe is one of our favorites!

For the quick and easy brightening citrus face mask recipe you will need:

🥚 1 egg white

🍊 1/2 tsp orange juice

🍋 1/2 tsp lemon juice

🍮 1/2 tsp tumeric

Add all ingredients to bowl and mix thoroughly. Apply to your face and neck with fingertips in a circular motion. Leave mask on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse mask off with warm water and pat skin dry with a clean towel or washcloth.

Limit sun exposure after using this mask as it contains citrus juices. The citrus juices can react with the sunlight, causing redness, blisters and serious burns. 🙅🌞

This citrus peel bug spray is a great non-toxic alternative to store brands with poisonous ingredients!

I LOVE this mixture because it is completely natural, non-toxic, and safe for children!

*First, save some citrus peels (I like to use orange and lemon peels.)

*Then add the peels to a resealable glass container and fill with white vinegar.

*Wait 2 weeks.

*Strain out the citrus peels and transfer liquid to a spray bottle.

*Add essential oils like lavender or peppermint if desired.

Then just shake and spray to keep bugs away!

Make your own NON-TOXIC foaming handsoap with just two ingredients!!!

I tend to make my own cleaners at home and use castile soap for cleaning just about everything!

In this quick one minute video, I will show you how easy it is to make your own foaming handsoap with Dr. Bonner’s Castile soap and water. No other ingredients needed!

First, I purchased a three-pack of foaming handsoap pumps and the Dr. Bonner’s Castile soap from Amazon. I love these foaming handsoap pumps because they are rust-proof, come in a variety of colors, and fit a standard size mason jar.

**You can find the link for both of these favs in the affiliate area of my Non-Tox Eco Shop here www.donnanaturale.com/non-tox-eco-shop.

Once you have your supplies, fill the mason jar 1/3 full with the castile soap. I prefer Dr. Bonner’s because it scented with pure essential oils, not nasty artificial fragrances. Then fill the jar the rest of the way with water. Shake gently. Now your foaming handsoap is ready to use.

I love this natural soap recipe because the castile soap does not dry my skin like other handsoaps and it is extremely cost-efficient for my large family!

I hope you take a minute to check out the videos, Donna Naturale’s NEW Official YouTube Channel, and @donnanaturale on Tik Tok.

I am excited to think about all of the possibilities for more instructional videos and recipes! I hope to get savvier with these platforms and even more creative with the content that I am creating in the future!

Here are a few more categories in which I plan to expand more with new video content and how-to’s:
